Before The Second String was born, there was The Paper Trail. This blog was my attempt to learn more about environmental issues and get outside more. It never really found its way. Once the pandemic hit and sports were canceled, I realized what a gaping hole was left in my life where they once were. The return of sports reinvigorated my passion for the game and reminded me of my dream to go into sports media. So I created The Second String.

But on this page, The Paper Trail lives on. You can find the few posts I created for that blog here. Sometimes I’ll still write about my outdoor adventures, but here you can see my first baby steps toward creating my own blog.
